A young guy got clipped yesterday on Packard in Ann Arbor... motorist turning right in front of a helmetless cyclist riding a brakeless fixie. From someone (avid, experienced cyclist) who saw the aftermath and paramedics putting him onto a stretcher... "It was the worst cyclist accident I have ever seen." Convulsions, paramedics, possible brain injury.
Fuck.
Helmets and brakes, folks. Seriously.

Fuck me. I just rode by there today (and it was too hot to be riding a bike, but now I'm in a/c so I'm happier). I almost got nailed at Packard and Division by this asshole in a--wait for it--Hummer. On one hand, if he had hit me, I could've sued him and happily taken 25% of his bank account and paychecks til the day he dies. OTOH, I'd have been hit by a huge moving vehicle.
